Anti government protests by the Red Shirts faction have been rocking Thailand for sometime and so far the reported death count is 25. In the latest round of violence, a series of grenade explosions ripped through Bangkok, leaving at least 1 dead and over 50 injured. Earlier in the month, the country witnessed a bout of violence, which was the worst of its kind in the last 18 years. Protestors went to the extent of using assault rifles and rocket launchers.

In fact, the Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva went ahead to declare a state of emergency in Bangkok and many countries issued warnings against travel to Thailand. Russia, Italy, and South Korea warned their citizens not to visit Bangkok, while Israel, Singapore, Hong Kong, and France advised citizens against taking non essential travel to Bangkok. Similarly, China alerted citizens to postpone travel to Thailand, while Australia recommended a ‘high degree of caution’ for tourists visiting Thailand.

The outbreak of violence has already forced a mass exodus of tourists from Bangkok. British nationals would do well to check out the website of ‘The Foreign and Commonwealth Office’ for comprehensive information on Thailand travel under the current circumstances. The website warns against all but essential travel to Bangkok and certain areas of Thailand and no travel at all to certain specific areas. It is imperative that the website be checked out as the information is invaluable and includes aspects like particularly vulnerable areas, emergency tips, and local laws.

Rügen Island, Germany
Located just off Germany’s north-east coast is a small island gem, well known to Germans, but less so to the rest of us. With its 40 miles of sandy beaches, it is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and also has two of Germany’s national parks. To get there, just book one of the many flights to Europe then travel onwards by road, rail or ferry.

Isle of Wight, England

Easily accessible from the rest of Britain, it offers a pleasant weather and many interesting sights and sites – like Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s summer home. With most villas in Bali located in Canggu, Jimbaran, Kerobokan, Seminyak, Sanur and Ubud area. But this still cover a big deal of villas to choose from. Usually villas have their own swimming pool or plunge pool, this is the standard of villas in Bali. Now its depending on your desire and need to make the list smaller and easier to choose.

With a population recorded as 3,151,000 in 2005, the island is home to the vast majority of Indonesia’s small Hindu minority. 93.18% of Bali’s population adheres to Balinese Hinduism, while most of the remainder follow Islam. It is also the largest tourist destination in the country and is renowned for its highly developed arts, including dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking and music.

If you are loking for cultural environtment then Ubud area is the best choice. If you like hanging out at famous clubs or restaurants then Seminyak is the place. If you like to enjoy your holiday in a quite area but not to far from night living then Kerobokan is the best choice for that.

Singapore is a very small country by most people’s estimation. However, that is not saying that this small city state are lacking in very good tourist destinations as there are many interesting places to visit in Singapore.

There are many fascinating tourist attractions in Singapore, though, I’d say that you’d be geared towards what interest you personally. With that said, I have a list of places to visit in Singapore to anyone who’d ask me.

Sentosa

On top of my list is Sentosa. With the latest developments in this small island off the coast of mainland Singapore, it is slated to be one of the top travel destination in Southeast Asia. Resorts World Sentosa has just opened with a casino and Universal Studios Theme Park as two of its many attractions.

And of course, there’s also the pink dolphin show to entertain the whole family as well as the underwater world which boasts of a wide diversity of marine life. There’s just so many things to see in Sentosa, you’d have to spend the whole day exploring the place.
